Congratulations to all of the MusicNL nominees!
Hearing my name today on the list of nominees is very bittersweet. 2026 has been a lost year for me when it comes to my involvement in the music scene, a large part of that is not having the podcast on the go. When it comes to Musical Connections, I take a lot of pride in being up to date on the music scene and that was a big part of why I make the content that I do. So being behind on much of music in the province in 2026 sucks.
One of my biggest fears following this year is being forgotten and I know that sounds selfish, but those were the feelings I was holding in for the longest time. I know that with the loss of my dad, I have been quiet for a while on the podcast front so that was a legitimate fear of being forgotten entirely. So to be there today makes me so full of love and my dad would have wanted me to be there too. It’s still rough to not have him here to call him to tell the news, but I know he is here with me. My love for music comes from him and I’m grateful and thankful to keep that alive.
Thank you to MusicNL for the nomination and thanks to the music community in general for still thinking of me. Another congratulations to my fellow nominees, Heather Barrett & Alyssa! I will see you all in October!
