I figure I would post this photo from MusicNL week last year because I’ve been struggling for a while on how to respond to my absence from the Musical Connections podcast over the past four months. Hope this will do it justice.
I originally had planned to return as soon as possible following the posting of my top 25 of 2025 in albums and New Found Releases. Little did I know how time consuming all of that would be. I got it finished around early January and I had plans to record both episodes and start to schedule interviews for the new year, but what was a lingering cloud over my head was my dad’s declining health. As most people know already, he was diagnosed with two forms of cancer. State 4 Advanced Prostate and High-Grade Neuroendocrine Carcinoma. After a month making hospital visits, he passed away on February 23rd. It’ll be two months as of this week and it’s still so hard to believe he’s not here anymore.
I will not apologize for taking care of my family because if not for them, I would not be here right now. I will apologize for not following through on delivering content that I promised and announced. As it comes to the Musical Connections podcast, I have no idea when it will be coming back. Losing a quarter of the year already sucks. How it looks when I do bring it back is still up in the air. I have five interviews remaining from MusicNL week that I haven’t put out yet but I’m not sure how timely they are since they were recorded in November and it’s almost May. I might put them out yet, they may never air. It’s a lot to consider so I’m going to need more time before I make any calls on Musical Connections.
However, it doesn’t mean that this podcast is done. My dad would want this to carry on because of how much it has changed my life and that I will do!
