All finished for week 2. Added some mohair in the eyelets … this time in light blue. Excited for tomorrow, but I’ve decided it’s too much of a behemoth to carry on ✈️ to 🇵🇹&🇪🇸 so I’ll start on clue 3 tomorrow, but will have to finish when I’m back. Loving my colours together. 3 are my own hand dyed (deep chocolate, royal purple, dark navy) and the lit blue is a hex in daydream I think.

With the summer heat finally breaking and the crisp fall wind in the air, it’s time to get cozy!

This month we partnered up with the illustrious Songbird Yarn & Fibres. Vicki dyes each of her yarns after her favourite birds, and includes information about the bird on the label. I picked the Barn Owl colourway because its gorgeous tonal shades reminded me of drinking a warm drink on a cold day. The yarn is a 75/25 superwash merino/nylon DK weight, and is perfect for autumnal projects.

The project this month is a pair of fingerless gloves, featuring a delicate cable, and an extra-warm foldover cuff. The pattern shows off all the depth of shades of the yarn beautifully.

And to round out this cozy box, we have included an acrylic keychain to remind you that “home is where my yarn is”.

Im a doofus… I get all stressed out before a show and almost always forget to take photos. Then, once the doors are open, I spend glorious hours talking yarn, patterns, BIRDS, and all sorts of other things with amazing people….again, forgetting to take any pics.
I missed last year’s Knitters Fair, so I was very happy to be back this year. Thank you to all the volunteers who were there early and late, and especially the organizers! For being a four woman team, you really hit it outta da park!

Ok US Songbird fans, I think I can continue to ship to the US (I had paused for a few days while I sorted things out!)

US orders will show any extra charges at the checkout and be shipped DPP (duties prepaid).

Technically, yarn manufactured in Canada falls under the USMCA and is tariff free, but I can’t be 100% confident that you’ll not be charged a blanket tariff of 35%.
However, it should all show at the checkout and you can decide before you buy!

Wow! What a day!!! It was cold and windy, but also warm and friendly. A perfect day at the ! This is the only booth picture I managed near the end of the day. Thank you to all the intrepid volunteers who kept our tents on the ground, checked in regularly, and especially to and for all their fabulous organization and support!!

AND…. I checked my Nest cam on the drive home and my little house wren (we are calling her Wanda) is finally building her nest!!! 🪺 so exciting to watch her progress.

I have a gorgeous selection of undyed natural Ontario grown fibre coming with me to Fergus.

It’s varios blends of mohair and a super soft non-Superwash Ontario wool. I have a limited supply in lace, fingering/light DK, DK, Worsted and Aran. It’s gorgeous stuff! You won’t want to miss grabbing a few skeins at a fabulous price!
