🚨 Heads up, Strathroy drivers

With the rapid growth in our community, many residents might not be familiar with what a flashing green light on a vehicle means.

In Ontario, volunteer firefighters are permitted to use a flashing green light on their personal vehicles when responding to emergency calls. This light is a request for courtesy. It asks other drivers to yield or pull over safely when possible to help them get to the emergency quickly.

These vehicles are not emergency vehicles, and volunteers must still follow all traffic laws. But when you see that green light, know that someone is on their way to help a neighbor, a friend, or maybe even you.
