🧣 Winter Clothing Drive 🧤

The Social Services Department is collecting gently used or new winter clothing and accessories for individuals of all ages in need.

We’re accepting: coats, snowsuits, snowpants, boots, socks, gloves/mittens, hats, scarves, warm sweaters/hoodies, and base-layer clothing. Please ensure all items are clean and in good condition. (no rips, missing buttons, or broken zippers.)

Lawrence Commanda Health Centre – 58 Semo Rd., Garden Village
NFN Social Services Reception Desk – 36 Semo Rd., Garden Village

Young Forestry* – 3 Maang Miikan, North Bay
Grandpa’s Cabin & Convenience* – 10 Giizhik Miikan, Garden Village

NFN supports Bill S-2

Bill S-2 could help bring many of our family members home — but it is not law yet. NFN strongly supports keeping the Senate’s amendments, which would remove the second-generation cut-off and open the door for thousands of people back into First Nations across Canada, including here in Nipissing.

“Our Family Circles hold our past, our present, and our future,” says Gimaa Cathy Stevens. “For too long, federal rules have pushed our people out and broken these circles.”

NFN is calling on members to reach out to your MPs — including MP Pauline Rochefort — and urge them to keep these important changes in Bill S-2 as it moves through the House of Commons.
