According to reports, Indian cricket legend and former captain Rohit Sharma was honoured with the Padma Shri, India’s fourth-highest civilian award, by President Droupadi Murmu at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi.

Rohit was among 65 distinguished personalities recognised during the second Civil Investiture Ceremony. The award comes in recognition of his outstanding contribution to Indian cricket and his remarkable achievements on the international stage.

Badminton Academy after more than three decades, the former All England champion now describes himself as “kind of semi-retired,” with more time for family, fitness, and his granddaughter Dua.

At the centre of that family life is granddaughter Dua, the daughter of actor couple Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh. Padukone admitted that becoming a grandfather has been a deeply emotional and rewarding experience.
