He does not care about the extra towels or the messy bath time routine waiting for us back at the cottage. He just knows he is having the absolute best day ever, and honestly, that is exactly how it should be.
We recently took a short family vacation to Sherkston Shores, and leaving our 100lb Bernese Shepherd mix behind was never an option. Simba spent the weekend staying right in the cottage with us, joining in on every single beach trip and riding shotgun on the golf cart.
If there is one thing we feel we did completely right with Tesla, it was how much we included her in our family time. She was a part of every adventure, and we promised ourselves we would continue that exact same legacy with Simba.
Does packing for a giant breed dog make traveling more complicated? Absolutely. Does managing a toddler and a large dog on a beach trip mean double the work and double the real life chaos? Without a doubt. But it is their life too, and it is a life worth living.
Our time with them is far too short. Always take them with you. 🐾☀️
