The Acadia crew hit a home run with our staff outing this past Friday at the Border Cats game! It was 80s Theme Night, sponsored by 99.9 The Bay.

The highlight? Danny threw the first pitch... and nailed it!

Huge thanks to the Border Cats for the amazing hospitality on the party deck — great food, great seats, and even better company.

If you're planning a staff or family get-together this summer, we highly recommend booking a night at the ballpark!

Keep 3 Feet between your garbage & recycling. Some "solid" advice from our friends at the Thunder Bay Solid Waste & Recycling Services.

When setting out your garbage and recycling, remember to leave 3 feet between your recycling cart and your garbage - and place your garbage on the grey-lid side of your cart so it is visible to waste collection staff. This makes collection more efficient. Many thanks! More: www.thunderbay.ca/garbage

Today marks a meaningful moment for Thunder Bay and for Canadians across the country.

Around noon, the National Ride of Hope will be in our city. The ride is led by Darrell Fox, brother of Terry Fox, and it carries special significance for us—Thunder Bay is the place where Terry’s Marathon of Hope came to an end in 1980.

To honour the 45th anniversary of that journey, Darrell and a small team are cycling 7,000 kilometers from Vancouver to St. John’s. Their goal is to raise $1 million for cancer research.

This ride is about more than distance—it’s about continuing the legacy of one of Canada’s most inspiring figures. Communities across the country are joining in to support the cause, and today, it’s our turn.

If you’re out and about around noon, stop by the Terry Fox Monument to cheer on Darrell and the team. It’s a simple but powerful way to remember Terry and support the fight against cancer.

Huge congratulations to the Oklahoma City Thunder on capturing their first NBA Championship! And an even bigger shoutout to Canada’s own Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who just pulled off a historic trifecta…Regular Season Scoring Title, MVP, and Finals MVP…a feat last accomplished by Shaquille O’Neal a quarter-century ago. What a season, what a player, what a moment for basketball.šŸ€
