On Kevin Smeltzer's biggest song yet, he needed a huge choir to sing several phrases in Latin. We made some phone calls and got our friends Theresa Marie Thibert, Katherine Nemec, Sharon Rose, and Carmen Wessel to dust off their ancient language pronunciation and join us in the studio. 📜🎙️

On January 26th it's our birthday! 🎂🎉

It's been 2 years since opening our new studio location.

To celebrate, we're hosting a takeover of The Foundry's Open Mic night, giving the stage to some of the many musicians that have been with us from the beginning.

Admission is free, and all ages are welcome!

Great to see that this fantastic work can and will be used to its full potential in classrooms across the province!

So Humbled! Micah Howe Pawluk and I signed a licensing deal for Granddaughter’s Song with On-Core.
We signed today, so it will be a but before its up!
Miigwech to Justin Sillman for helpjng engineer the tracks, Blueprints for recordg and co-producing, FredericAlexander-Michaud for being the virtual conductor , Jim Zolis for mastering, Jordan Smith for recording, Marten Blanchet and many more musicians for lending your talent!This particular piece of work certainly was intended for people to listen to and enjoy, but our biggest hope was that it could be used as an educational tool that is non-judgmental, not shaming, and works with truth and reconciliation. We wanted it to shine the light on indigenous youth today and what it means to walk in two worlds in order to uphold our traditions while walking in the western Way of life.
We wanted to create a piece that built understanding on how knowledge is disseminated while also building an understanding on the seven sacred teachings.
It’s a thrill and an honour to have this licensing deal for the next few years. Watch for it if your school board uses this platform.

It saddens us to hear the news that our friend Wayne Faulconer has passed away. His deep drawl kept us laughing both in and out of the studio, whether we were working on his original music, bringing him in for a guest spot on an album, filming him doing lawn maintenance, or even sharing a lasagna over pops. RIP Gitar Wayne.

How time flies! Almost exactly a year ago Jakob Brady did his first interview and acoustic performance on Wawatay News Radio as part of their Radiothon, backed up by Jean-Paul De Roover. Now that a year has passed, his album(s) has been completed while he patiently waits for the next phase of his career as a musician to begin! 📻🎄

This time, Cassidy got comfy in the home of the Ranta family, whose warm hearts led to the use of their home for a day to record their family's upright piano. 🎹🏠

Destin Dumais has once again made the trip in to Thunder Bay, this time for a 2-day session. During his stay he recorded all the acoustic guitars and vocals for his next 3 songs. We're excited for you to hear them all! 🧢🎸

Kevin Smeltzer needed help with a makeshift children’s choir on an upcoming song so we reached out to Marcia Arpin of All the DAZE Productions to help us find some promising young singers. Emilia Tenhave, Jocelyn Schaaf and Madisyn Hebert all came in and did a fantastic job! If you live in Thunder Bay, you may have already heard them in the recent productions of Frozen Jr and Spongebob Square Pants the musical.
