Why "THE THREAD"?
Our main goal is to weave through the barrier of student filmmaking, alot of students are international and our goal is bridging the culture gap, and the use of hybrid languages in film.
What Genre's are allowed?
Documentary: Films exploring the real-life struggles, triumphs, and cultural adaptation of international students or local students collaborating with international peers.
​Drama: Narrative films focusing on the emotional conflicts of communication, displacement, homesickness, academic pressure, or relationships across cultural divides.
​Comedy: Films that use humor to explore cross-cultural misunderstandings, language barriers, or the everyday absurdities of student life in a new country.
​Experimental/Animation: Creative works that metaphorically illustrate the feeling of being an outsider, the breaking down of barriers, or the formation of a new identity.
