My Rants and I
I often hear people say that "Nigeria sweet wen u get money". Some even question why anyone would leave comfort and luxury here in Nigeria to live a simpler life abroad. Pray Nigeria don't happen to you, you will understand that real wealth is not only by shiny shiny things or expensive lifestyles but also by the infrastructure, basic amenities and service that cater to a greater population that matters.
Yesterday's accident involving Anthony Joshua and is friends brings this into sharp focus. In moments like that, money, status, or influence do not matter first, what matters are the infrastructures, the state of the roads, the speed of emergency response, quality healthcare and the efficiency of public systems. These are things no amount of personal wealth can fully replace.
How do we explain all the wealth in Nigeria yet things like good roads with safe walkways, clean surroundings, security, reliable emergency services are all absent. These are what make life dignified for both the rich and the poor. When these basics are missing, luxury loses its meaning.
This is why many people will choose modest living abroad over elite status in places like Nigeria where systems do not work.
I believe we can do better..
