Motherhood is busy.. everyday and every stage.

In the midst of this beautiful chaos, we must remember the necessity of the Holy Spirit and the fruitful outpouring He gives us when we rely on Him in the process of raising children.

He guides us into love, joy, peace, kindness, and gentleness as we lean on him through the mundane moments of each day. He cultivates meekness, long suffering, faithfulness, and self control so that we can be a model to our children and a light to those around us.

These fruits are not ours to claim, and we can never maintain these traits in our own strength. Without Him, we will fall short through our impatient outbursts, irritability, selfishness and more.

Only by knowing Him on a personal level do these behaviours become natural to us rather than second nature.
When He takes up residence in our hearts, He empowers us to respond with grace.. even when others inflict pain intentionally.

Praise be to God, that through Jesus, we have access to the overflowing love of God.
A love unlike anything we’ve ever dreamed of feeling, a sincere love that pours through our surrendered hearts into the lives of those we care for and serve.

To Him be the glory forever, we are nothing without Him. šŸ’—

How to Serve Like Jesus ā™„ļø
When you picture a leader—do you picture yourself?

We all have spheres of influence, which means each of us are called to lead in some capacity. And if we follow Jesus, then we are called to follow the leadership example He set out for us-wherever we are, in whatever we do.

When Jesus washed His disciples feet, he was demonstrating their need to be spiritually cleansed, but he was also showing them what His standard was for leadership. To lead like Jesus, His disciples would need to demonstrate humility and serve others sacrificially.

ā€œThe Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.ā€ Matthew 20:28 NIV

In first century Israel, washing someone’s feet was typically a servant’s job. It would have been radical to wash His disciples’ feet and then command them to do the same thing.

This would have placed each of the disciples in the position of a servant.

But to be great in Jesus’ eyes was to sacrificially serve others. And in order to sacrificially serve others, you need to be willing to view others as better than yourself.

This doesn’t mean that you have a low opinion of yourself. It means that you have such an accurate view of yourself that you don’t see yourself as greater (or less) than you actually are. You see yourself the way Jesus sees you: as someone worthy of being served and worthy of serving others.

It was out of love that Jesus served His disciples, and it was out of love that Jesus willingly went to the cross and sacrificed Himself for us. Jesus illustrated that if we want to become great leaders, then we need to humbly serve others.

And if we want to lead like Jesus, then we need to be like Him.

1 Corinthians 13:4-7 ā™„ļø

Love is patient, love is kind.
Love does not envy, is not boastful, is not arrogant, is not rude, is not self-seeking, is not irritable, and does not keep a record of wrongs.
Love finds no joy in unrighteousness but rejoices in the truth.
It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

Our passions wage war within us, often leading us towards troubled paths and self destruction.

Our biggest mistake can sometimes be the belief that we should or must be strong enough to resist, strong enough to make the right choices, and strong enough to pull ourselves away from temptation, selfish desires, and the idols we create for ourselves.

However, desiring what the world offers more than what the Lord offers is hostility towards God. It’s prideful, and adulterous. It’s idolatry.

For the spirit who dwells in us as born again believers envies intensely, desiring to be first in our hearts and our lives. - James 4

Our submission to God and what He asks us to lay down in our lives is the key to experiencing divine strength.
The kind of strength the supernaturally enables us to flee temptation, overcome worldly desires, and fix our hearts compassionately on the needs of others or the will of the Father rather than our own needs and own will.

Submission is an act of humility, to which the Lord shows grace and favour. Through submission, we express our trust in God’s perfect will and plan for our lives.

Submission empowers us to lay down the parts of our lives we desperately wish to control and experience the strength and miraculous works of our Heavenly Father.
It allows the Holy Spirt to renew our hearts and minds shifting us to think, feel, and speak more like Christ Himself.

It allows us to live in the reality of eternity by His side; at peace, contentment, and security in the palm of His hand.

The Lord promises us ā€œGive, and it will be given to you.ā€ (Luke 6:38) read caption..

Let’s face it, most days our responsibilities and stresses can have us feeling as though we’re drowning and cannot catch a single moment of rest (& if you’re a parent, you definitely know what I mean).

It’s always when we feel completely void of anything, that we feel justified in not giving anything.. to anyone.

When we think of giving to others in this state of ā€œemptinessā€, MANY thoughts race through our minds:
- my energy level is so low
- my patience quota has been maxed out for the week
- my ability to express love is next to nothing
- my financial needs already leave me with not much to spare
- I can’t catch a break! I’ll give more when I’m well rested.

Today’s society is glorifying ā€œself-loveā€ rather than the selfless love Jesus commands His followers to give.

We have become an exhausted, burnt out, selfish society with no one’s happiness in mind but our own. We’re so quick to throw people to curb the moment they get in the way of our happiness, goals, or ambitions.

Imagine what this world would be like if our only goal was to out serve one another?

The only sure way to give abundantly is to make sure we first receive from the one who provides abundantly.

We cannot fill someone else’s cup until ours is overflowing; it is from the Lord’s overflow that we can pour into each other.

When we obey his command to give, He will ALWAYS fulfill His promise to fill us back up abundantly… so long as we seek His face for replenishment.

Make time for Him each morning, and His grace will empower you to serve.
Make time for Him in the evening, and His grace will bring rest to your soul.

Let Christ be an example of how we ought to serve one another in love.
ā€œFor even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.ā€ (Mark 10:45)

What does the Bible say about DISCONTENTMENT? (read more)…

Many of us are rushing through life, devaluing those around us, and the experiences we are involved in.

We lack appreciation for the importance and significance that they bring to our lives at this very moment, in this very season.

We fail to adhere to our responsibilities of holding moments deer and treating these gifts that God has entrusted to us with care.

Instead of embracing the privileges of being a blessing to our families, our children, our friends, and others, we tend to quietly communicate how we want them to change or ā€œspeed upā€ so that they’re more in line with what we want… hurrying things along for our own happiness.

The problem with that is that consistently looking forward to the next moment doesn’t grant us the privilege of fully participating in and embracing in the precious fleeting moments of today.

Let’s carefully consider what the Bible says about contentment and resolve to never again missing out on anything in life.

Read:
- 1 Timothy 6:6
- 1 Timothy 6:8
- Hebrews 13:5

& ask yourself:
- What can you do differently TODAY to gather up all the good things around you and begin enjoying the journey of your life?
