This is one of those maps that says a lot about Canada in a single glance.
Minimum wage in this country is not really one national number.
It is a patchwork of provincial, territorial, and federal rules, which means the size of a paycheque can shift a lot depending on where you live and who signs it.
The North topping the list also tells its own story about remoteness, labour shortages, and the higher cost of simply living day to day.
And the federal rate often gets misunderstood, because it mainly covers federally regulated private sector jobs, not everyone across Canada.
A chart like this is really a snapshot of how uneven affordability still feels from one part of the country to another.
