How Do You Create a Brand Name That Sticks?
Kimberfly is a nickname that was given to me in my 20s by a close friend because I always loved butterflies. When I was creating a business in 2014, I wanted a name that reflected both who I am and what I do creatively. That’s where the “design” part came in. Design, to me, means everything from creating logos and flyers to designing events, websites, and even paintings.
As a graphic designer with experience in advertising, real estate marketing, and the graphic design industry, I’ve learned how important it is for your business name to communicate clearly what you offer—especially in today’s fast-paced, scroll-happy world where people often don’t stop to read. A name that spells it out helps people understand your purpose simply.
When I launched Young at Heart Painting, I used the same logic. I wanted to create a name that evoked feelings of youth, creativity, and connection for seniors—and also clearly stated what we do: painting. I believe in making things easy to understand, warm, and memorable.
Today, Kimberfly represents more than just a nickname—it’s a symbol of growth, creativity, and freedom. It reminds me of who I was in my 20s and how much I’ve grown through the ups and downs of entrepreneurship. Even though butterflies were my first love, the “fly” part now also connects to my deep love of birds—especially parrots like our sweet Coco
This name has grown with me, who knows, maybe one day I’ll change it because we’re always evolving. 🦋
