Looking for a fun family activity this summer? ⚽🇨🇦

We spent the afternoon at the Forge FC FC vs. Vancouver FC match and had such a great time. The views of the pitch were incredible, the seats were fantastic, and the stadium itself is beautiful.

Before kickoff, we wandered through the South Plaza, where there was live music, games, BBQ, ice cream, and cooling stations. One of the highlights was watching families head onto the field before the match to help hold the Canada flag—an experience that’s exclusive to this game.

Such an easy, fun way to spend a summer afternoon together.

Have you been to a match yet?

Unpopular opinion:

The best friendships aren’t the ones that require constant maintenance.

They’re the ones that survive without it.

The friends who understand that you’re raising kids, building a life, carrying a lot, and can’t text back for a week.

No guilt.
No keeping score.
No “you’ve changed.”

Just: “I’ve missed you. Tell me everything.”

Tag your “I’ve missed you. Tell me everything” friend.

We grew up on TGIF nights.
Blockbuster runs. Nokias. Landlines that rang at home.

Now we’re raising children in a different world.
Trying to bring back boredom, outside time, simplicity.

More present—emotionally and physically.
But also carrying more awareness than we were raised with.

Balancing instinct with information.
Childhood simplicity with modern overload.

Breaking cycles in real time.
Choosing slow where we can.
Packing snacks like it’s a full-time job.

And collectively agreeing that low-rise jeans
never needed a comeback.

1. Designer sunglasses — when my boys were babies, they constantly pulled them off my face. Now they want to “borrow” them. They stopped feeling precious pretty quickly.

2. Designer bags — since becoming a mom, my priorities have shifted. There’s something incredibly freeing about simplicity.

3. Designer shoes — my focus has shifted toward quality, wearability, and functionality over status & trends.

4. Trend pieces — motherhood made me more intentional with shopping. I buy less, repeat outfits more, and think harder about longevity.

What have you stopped buying since becoming a mom?
