DJ Clark Kent, born Rodolfo Franklin, has passed away at the age of 58 after a three-year struggle with colon cancer, according to a statement from his family.

“It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Rodolfo A. Franklin, known to many as DJ Clark Kent,” the family shared. “Clark passed away Thursday evening, surrounded by his devoted wife Kesha, daughter Kabriah, and son Antonio.”

The statement highlighted his quiet resilience, saying, “Clark fought colon cancer with courage and strength over the past three years while continuing to share his talents with the world. The family deeply appreciates everyone’s love, support, and prayers and respectfully requests privacy during this time of profound loss.”

Clark’s career began in New York’s late-1980s club scene, and he achieved early success with the Junior M.A.F.I.A. track “Player’s Anthem,” featuring The Notorious B.I.G. He later hosted the DJ battle segment at New Music Seminar, which was renamed Clark Kent’s Superman Battle for World Supremacy.

The Weeknd & School on Wheels team up to provide laptops, tutoring, & mentorship which will support over 1,000 students experiencing homelessness from kindergarten through twelfth grade in LA.

The students will receive Chromebooks and other laptops, internet access, and software programs like Renaissance Star Assessments, MyOn, and Freckle to improve their learning skills and match them to an accurate curriculum based on their educational needs.
