My heart can always be found in community. I've been involved in community work for over a decade now and I keep coming back because if there's a problem you want solving, the solution can only be made found in the community. The problem of focus on my mind right now is mental health awareness and education. It's a problem that has been going on so long it can lose the sense of urgency it requires.
For the past few weeks, I've been promoting my mental health workshop, .table.talks. designed with the community, we deconstruct and discuss mental health over injera.
This Saturday afternoon, you can find me at TAIBU Community Health Centre (27 Tapscott Road #1) discussing Seasonal Affective Disorder as well as the many other forms of depression.
I would love to see some friendly faces, come through and be apart breaking the of in our community.
