With all that has gone on lately with the band, my health and the fight i still have with nh lymphoma, and the road that lies ahead... there have been moments where I have felt the shadow of death;
For me, the ONLY road ahead.... is the road filled with hope, love, and a promise. This I have strongly felt: I'm not done. As some of you know, I've been working these last couple of years, collecting footage of Machaira, to create a full length 90 minute documentary; not only on the band, for there is a much larger scope this documentary is covering...
The reason why people, all over the world, are drawn to music; to want to learn an instrument; the yearning to sing, to want to play in a band, or become a songwriter, composer, virtuoso violinist, learn how to shred on a guitar. Why people are so drawn to the sound of music... how music goes far beyond words and thoughts, and brings out strong emotions like joy, weeping, a sense of purpose, calm, the need to see beyond ourselves, the deep spiritual connection to creating something that didn't exist before.
Music brings cultures, generations, communities, families, friends and weaves them together. You can hear music in another language, and not understand what they are saying and be brought to tears while listening.
I hope you'll follow me as I start to bring this story of the band and the bigger story of our love of music globally... I'll be having a bunch of details to some of the exciting events we are planning.
