Before you open your restaurant, don’t make these three marketing mistakes: waiting too long to start marketing, opening without a clear brand story or positioning, and relying only on Instagram to bring in customers. The most successful openings start building buzz at least 90 days before the doors open, not two weeks before. Build the brand, build the audience, and build the hype so you can open strong. It’s all about prep. The magic does not just happen on set. In many cases, the prep takes longer than the actual shoot.
At Branding & Buzzing, we cover every detail. A strong shot list and treatment act as our guidebook. They outline the recipes we will use, the hero shots, the models and talent, and the creative direction everyone follows on shoot day. If one detail is missed, the entire production is at risk.
Our partner Marian Staresinic is the queen of details. She reviews and tweaks each treatment, and she works through every recipe with the chefs and photographers. Nothing gets missed under her watch, and that makes all the difference on set.
In this example, we caught a small but important hiccup. The soup needed to be thawed before the shoot. If we had not flagged it, the whole day could have been delayed. That would have cost time and money.
Every detail matters, even the smallest ones. It can feel daunting to manage shoots in house, which is why our clients trust us.
As Sean Beckingham always says, “You are not hiring us for today’s shoot. You are hiring us for the hundred we did before.”
