On location shooting interviews and b-roll at a stormwater management facility in Markham for an Emergency Managment project 👷‍♂️🚧🏗🦺

No power on site? No problem!
The Greenworks 80V Power Station can power the Aputure 300x for over 5h at full brightness!

The wind was another issue. Two sand bags was not going to cut it🤦‍♂️ It took a fully loaded cart, rocks🪨 and Theo holding on for dear life to keep the light vertical!

We did a high-level overview of the Durham York Energy Centre (DYEC) — a waste management facility that produces energy from the combustion of garbage. The DYEC safely processes 140,000 tonnes per year of residential garbage that remains after maximizing waste diversion programs – reducing, reusing, recycling and composting – in Durham and York Regions.

On July 1st, we helped produce Markham's livestream broadcast for the 2026 Canada Day Drumming event hosted by Legacy 150 Celebrations Society. A nationwide event connecting over 140 cities celebrating diversity through percussion arts.

These shoots get more ambitious every time!
I'm extremely proud of the team and what we pulled off in a very short amount of time. We had a day and half to capture in use product photos and video with 30+ power tools PLUS record scripted reads. The challenge was coming up with unique scenarios for each tool and finding a location versitile enough to accomodate all of our needs. We ended up shooting 20 different "projects" with Scott. He built a work bench, a shelf, installed drywall, shiplap, washed and buffed a car, removed a tire and cut down a tree...to name a few! These shoots can be challenging but they're also the most rewarding. I love them because I get to pull from every skill set I have, not just production.

💥Last week was a BLAST💥 We hit the ground running with and 11 engineering students from UofT on an immersive, 5 day tour of Ontario’s newest gold mine to see the scale of the operation first hand—Everything from drilling and blasting to hauling and processing. ⛰️ They worked with industry professionals, heard their stories and learned what it takes to make it in this tough but highly rewarding industry 👷‍♂️👷‍♀️. This is the 5th tour I’ve been a part of and it’s always a thrill to see the student's real-time reactions. We get to capture the 💡 moment when perceptions change and an attractive new career path is suddenly within reach.
