Sierra Leonean 🇸🇱 international Juma Bah has taken another significant step in his European football career after making his Bundesliga debut for FC Augsburg against German giants Bayern Munich, featuring against England captain Harry Kane.

The 20-year-old centre-back made his first appearance for Augsburg on Saturday, October 10, 2026, as the club secured a hard-fought 2–2 draw against Bayern Munich. Bah started the encounter and remained on the pitch until the 82nd minute, gaining valuable experience against one of Europe's most formidable sides.

Bah's Bundesliga debut represents another important chapter in a journey that began in Freetown, Sierra Leone. He initially developed his career with AIK Freetong before moving to Spanish side Real Valladolid during the 2024/25 season, where he made 12 La Liga appearances. His performances attracted the attention of Manchester City, who signed him in January 2025.

The young defender subsequently gained experience in France, spending time at RC Lens before joining OGC Nice on loan for the 2025/26 campaign. He made 41 appearances for Nice across all competitions, further establishing himself as a promising defensive prospect. Manchester City then sent him on loan to Augsburg for the 2026/27 season, opening the door to his Bundesliga adventure.

Facing Bayern Munich and sharing the pitch with a world-class striker like Harry Kane marks a significant milestone for the Sierra Leone international.

At least 71 people, including four soldiers, have been killed in violent clashes in Rumbek, central South Sudan. The violence began early Friday when armed youths reportedly attacked the town after fighting erupted between members of the Nyang and Pakam communities in a nearby village.

The attackers briefly seized control of parts of Rumbek before police and military reinforcements pushed them back. The clashes forced some residents to flee their homes, although the interim government says security forces have since restored order.

Four armed civilians have been arrested, while additional troops have been deployed to protect residents and prevent further violence. Authorities have condemned the killings and appealed for calm, warning communities against retaliatory attacks.

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has reached a preliminary agreement with Niger 🇳🇪 that could provide approximately $203 million in financial support over the next three years. The funding is expected to support the country’s economic reform agenda and strengthen its economic outlook.

The IMF projects Niger’s economy to grow by 7% in 2026, driven largely by increased agricultural production and oil exports. The institution also anticipates that strong economic performance will continue into 2027, provided key growth drivers remain robust.

The proposed agreement marks a significant step in Niger’s efforts to advance economic reforms, boost productive sectors, and sustain growth in the coming years.

Reports suggest that the Confederation of African Football (CAF) is considering revisiting its previous decision to hold the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) every four years, with the issue expected to feature in an upcoming Executive Committee meeting.

The reported development comes amid growing tensions between FIFA and UEFA, as discussions within African football circles increasingly favour a return to the tournament’s traditional format of being held every two years rather than every four years.

If CAF decides to reverse the change, it could restore AFCON’s biennial schedule, preserving a long-standing tradition in African football and providing national teams with more regular opportunities to compete for the continent’s most prestigious international trophy.

Somalia 🇸🇴 is reportedly seeking to acquire Pakistan’s JF-17 Thunder fighter jets as Mogadishu and Islamabad move to strengthen their defence and military partnership.

If finalised, the reported deal would represent a significant development in Somalia’s efforts to modernise its armed forces, enhance its air defence capabilities, and improve its overall military strength.

The JF-17 Thunder is a multirole combat aircraft jointly developed by Pakistan and China. It is designed to perform various military operations, including air-to-air combat and air-to-ground strikes.

The potential acquisition could further strengthen defence relations between Somalia and Pakistan. However, key details, including the number of aircraft involved, the cost of the deal, and the expected delivery schedule, have yet to be officially confirmed.
