Five Question Series How do you get to know someone by asking them Five Questions? Here's how. In her free time, she enjoys reading and trolling people with puppy GIFs and memes.

Born and raised in India, Anisha moved to Toronto to study Publishing and then Lifestyle Media at Centennial College in 2017. Writer, social media strategist and content creator, Anisha is the founder of Five Question Series, where she profiles people… you guessed it, by asking five questions. Her only phobia? Losing her sight, but staring at the screen all day long doesn’t help much.

Stereotypes are created by others, you do not create them yourself. If you accept them, you are defeated. No one walks in my shoes, so their opinion means very little. The challenge is not the workplace, the challenge is building a profitable business. I ran track competitively and I was putting in 100% every single day to reach my ‘personal best’. I’m not competing with anyone else. I’m not worried about being treated on par with men. I create my own reality, I focus on creating my own opportunities and strive to beat my ‘personal best’ every day.

Future belongs to those who refuse to buckle under the pressure of constant failure, struggles, and opposition, especially when they deserve none of it. This was one of the hardest lessons to fatho…

In the age of multitasking, should a person really focus on one single thing?

Y.E.S.

"If you look at each category of your life, you’ll see that you spend a disproportionate amount of time in one area. Doing one thing gives you extreme focus. This focus can be channeled towards tasks that lead to mastery instead of trying to dabble in lots of unrelated passions. Focus is how you reach states of flow and achieve results that look impossible."

So imagine my pleasant surprise when I came across Jessica Frampton, co-founder of Toronto’s top waxing franchise Fuzz Wax Bar. Keeping their eyes on the price (i.e. customer satisfaction), and zeroing in on providing only one service (i.e. waxing), here’s a much-needed entrepreneurial parable on how to do just one thing, and do it extremely well.

I love reading and because I know I’ll never be able to read all the books in the world, I had, a few months ago, started reading 5 books at a time. * I try to pretend I am smart sometimes, b…

Behind every successful man is a woman. Behind every successful woman is an army of women holding her up. 2018 is turning out to be the year of badass women, one we would like to be, one we should unapologetically be. When it comes to putting such women in a frame, no one fits the bill better than actress Megan Hutchings from Toronto.

Megan is a performer, animal activist, and the epitome of characterization, who is using her creative passion to make a point — in the form of animal welfare — and her talent to send an encouraging message: Live life unapologetically and don’t play small.

How often in a day do you say, “I am sorry.” Well, if you are Canadian, maybe quite a lot. But did you know women, in general, tend to apologize more even when the issue at hand warrant…

Q. As a woman of color, what were the challenges you had to overcome to get to where you are now?

A. When you are a black woman working in the financial industry, you are often in meetings or events in which you are the only black woman in the room. This isn’t something new for me, it’s been that way since I was a kid. The biggest challenge for me is that I often feel the pressure to represent my entire race when in these situations. Any mistake I make ends up reflecting poorly on other black women in the same space. The pressure to be the most successful, the most articulate, the most experienced can be exhausting.

Having always lived within a like-minded, like-looking community, discourse about race and color rarely made it to my everyday conversations. But then things changed when I moved to Toronto a year …

We are asked to never judge a book by its cover, yet thousands of dollars go into creating that perfect front page. Which brings me to address my utter awe and fascination for the seemingly confident and suave politicians, public speakers, entertainers, and featured in today’s edition… Christine Faulhaber.
Turning first-time meetings into life-long relationships, Christine Faulhaber is the founder of the award-winning public relations and marketing agency in Toronto, Faulhaber Communications.
