Two films. Two emotions. One beautiful night in Toronto that always reminds me why cinema matters. It surprises you, breaks you open, and asks you to see the world through perspectives beyond your own. π₯
No Other Choice was unpredictable in the best way! Sharp turns, unexpected humor, and moments that caught me off guard when I least expected it. A reminder that laughter can exist even in tension, and that storytelling doesnβt have to follow rules to land.
The Voice of Hind Rajab was the opposite experience; quiet, devastating, and impossible to shake. Heartbreaking in its honesty, it gives voice to the real human cost of the Palestine war and the painful limitations faced even by humanitarian efforts like the Red Cross. Itβs not an easy watch, but itβs an important one.
As we keep walking forward into 2026, carrying the weight of a world still facing genocide, loss, and deep injustice; nights like this remind me why art truly matters. Cinema holds up a mirror, asks us not to look away, and still leaves room for gratitude; for safety, for warmth, and for the everyday blessings we sometimes forget to name. β¨
