I was asked to review the UX for one of my client’s websites the other week, and I went HAM.
I mean H-A-M.
And as I was ripping it to shreads (kindly lol), I realized a lot of the challenges they had with their website UX were paralell to the things coaches and consultants struggle with in their marketing.
→ Making their sales process seamless – from socials and email to collecting the $$
→ Focusing less on THEM and more on their CLIENTS – no one gives a s**t about you (tbh)
→ Showing their work – you’ve got to demonstrate your credibility and prove you can get your clients the results they’re looking for
These are the fundamentals of a successful marketing and sales funnel, but coaches and consultants mess them up every. single. day.
So, what’s the antidote?
Perspective.
More specifically - perspective from your ideal clients.
As in, constantly refining your insights through:
Market research: Are you actually staying connected with what your audience needs right now? Things change, and your offers need to evolve with them.
Ideal client avatar work: Are you clear on who your best clients are, or are you chasing everyone? Narrow your focus, know their pain points, and speak directly to them.
Feedback loops: Are you getting regular, honest feedback from your clients? Their insights are gold for improving your approach and messaging.
Sales call reflections: After each call, are you taking time to reflect on what worked and what didn’t? Every sales conversation is an opportunity to tweak and optimize your approach and sales funnel.
Connecting with your leads: Are you really engaging with people in your community? It’s not just about broadcasting; it’s about having actual conversations that matter in improving your offer and positioning.
The more perspective you gain, the more you can identify the friction points in your marketing and sales—and fix them.
Perspective is the key to 99% of bottlenecks.
