Tonight!!!!
✨ Get Ready for One of the Darkest Nights of the Year! ✨
From midnight until dawn, the skies will be perfect for stargazing. 🌌
You might still catch the last meteors of the Perseid shower — dazzling streaks of light born from tiny fragments of Comet Swift–Tuttle burning up in Earth’s atmosphere. Even after the peak, Perseids can surprise you with colorful flashes and the occasional fireball. ☄️
At the same time, a rare Black Moon will make the skies even darker. This special New Moon happens only once every ~33 months. Depending on your location, you’ll experience it on August 22 or 23:
◾ August 22 – Western US & Canada, Alaska, Hawaii, parts of Mexico & Pacific islands
◾ August 23 – Eastern & Central US, South America, Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia & New Zealand
Since the Moon’s unlit side faces Earth, it will be completely invisible — leaving the heavens at their darkest, perfect for spotting faint stars, constellations, and even the Milky Way in breathtaking clarity. 🌠
⏰ Best viewing: 3–5 a.m. local time, when the atmosphere is calmest and skies are darkest.
🔭 Tips for Skywatching
• Watch anytime between midnight and dawn
• Find a location with minimal light pollution
• Give your eyes 20–30 minutes to adjust
• No telescope needed — just look up!
Tonight is the perfect chance to witness meteors, the Milky Way, and the magic of a truly dark sky. Don’t miss it! 🌌
