When you’ve spent years measuring your worth by what you accomplish, slowing down can feel less like rest and more like losing a part of yourself.

Many of us spend years building a life without ever stopping long enough to ask whether it truly aligns with who we’ve become.

That’s why slowing down can feel so uncomfortable.

Not because rest is hard, but because reflection is hard.

And reflection has a way of asking questions we’ve never had the time or courage to ask ourselves.

Burnout doesn’t always show up as breaking down.

Sometimes it shows up as normal days that slowly start feeling heavier than they should.

You keep going, you keep functioning… but something inside feels off.

And because it builds slowly, it starts to feel normal.

Life really moves in ways you don’t expect.

I used to think having a degree, confidence, and ambition meant I had everything mapped out. I was sure I was on track, sure I knew where life was going.

But here I am… 43… and still learning, still adjusting, still figuring it out as I go.

And honestly? I’ve stopped seeing that as failure.

It’s just life unfolding.

Different seasons. Different lessons. Different version of me.

Still becoming. 🌸
