I FINALLY decided!
We’re six months into 2026, so I thought this was the perfect time to FINALLY decide on my word of the year. Ya, it only took me 6 months to claim my word.
CREATE
If I’m being honest, I originally wanted the word Create to be my word, but I thought it didn’t feel BIG enough. It felt like I was playing small, which is funny because I really just wasn’t leaning into it as much as I needed to. I was the one playing small with what I thought it had to mean.
I was getting in the way of what my intuition was telling me.
My original word of the year wasn’t even a word, it was a phrase. A good phrase, but not one that would serve me this year.
When the word Create first came to me while on our family vacation in Mexico, I curled my nose at it. I thought “Create? Create what? Crafts?” - I mean, I’m here for all the crafting, but I didn’t get how this was going to be my word for the year.
And then. I got it. It hit me.
Create healing
Create space
Create love
Create balance
Create time
Create impact
Create the life I want
Create dreams into reality
And yes, Create beautiful pieces with my hands.
My intuition was right. It was leading me to what I’ve needed.
Creating with my hands has been a HUGE part of this year. It was while creating a craft that I realized Create was the word all along, I just needed my mind to catch up to what my soul had already called me to do. Creating with my hands is what has brought me healing and continues to do so.
Sometimes we have to get out of our own way and listen to our intuition.
So, yes, Create is more than just creating with my hands, it’s also creating with intention.
Here I am, with under 6 months left to the year, to tell you: my word is Create.
