🥐 Sausage Gravy and Biscuits
Fluffy homemade biscuits smothered in rich, creamy sausage gravy.
A classic Southern comfort breakfast that’s hearty, simple, and always satisfying.

🧾 Ingredients:
For the Biscuits
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tbsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
½ cup cold unsalted butter, cubed
¾ cup cold milk or buttermilk
For the Sausage Gravy
1 lb breakfast sausage
¼ cup all-purpose flour
2½ cups whole milk
Salt, to taste
Black pepper, to taste (generous is traditional)
👩🍳 Instructions:
Make the Biscuits
Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
In a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt.
Cut in cold butter until the mixture looks like coarse crumbs.
Stir in milk just until dough comes together.
Turn onto a floured surface, gently pat to 1-inch thickness, and cut biscuits.
Place on a baking sheet and bake 12–15 minutes, until golden.
Make the Sausage Gravy
In a skillet over medium heat, cook sausage until browned. Do not drain.
Sprinkle flour over sausage and stir well. Cook 1–2 minutes.
Slowly add milk, stirring constantly to avoid lumps.
Simmer until thick and creamy, about 5–7 minutes.
Season with salt and plenty of black pepper.
Serve
Split warm biscuits and generously ladle sausage gravy over the top.
Serve immediately and enjoy!
