Woke up, chose peace… still late.
And honestly? That’s the mood.
Because choosing peace doesn’t mean life suddenly runs on schedule or everything magically works out. It means you stop panicking over every little thing. It means you don’t let being five minutes late turn into a full-blown spiral about your worth, your future, and every mistake you’ve ever made.
Understand this balance. This "hustle" culture tells us to stress harder. But We’re choosing calm, even if we’re still figuring it out in real time. Sometimes peace looks like deep breaths in traffic. Sometimes it’s skipping the meltdown and grabbing coffee anyway. Sometimes it’s saying, “I’m human,” and keeping it pushing.
Being late doesn’t mean you’re lazy. It doesn’t mean you don’t care. It means life happened. The alarm didn’t hit. Your brain needed an extra moment. The world didn’t end.
Choosing peace is waking up and deciding not to punish yourself for being imperfect. It’s not rushing through your morning with anxiety chasing you out the door. It’s showing up as you are, not how social media says you should be.
So yes, I choose peace.
Yes, I am still late.
And no, I’m not beating myself up about it.
Because being calm, grounded, and kind to myself will always matter more than being perfectly on time for a system that never gave me grace anyway.
Late, but at peace.
And that’s the real flex. 🤏
