I haven't posted here for a bit, but we still manage to get out almost every weekend. Whether it be quading, kayaking, or camping it is great to get out and escape the every day.

This was our first backroad camping trip with our new to us trailer. It was perfect!

One of our favourite things to do in the summer is to go quading in the Beaufort Range. You rarely see anyone and it feels like you are in the middle of nowhere. This video contains several views high up in the mountains. We have seen black bears up here multiple times but we give them lots of space and they pretty much stare at us briefly then saunter back into the brush.

A few weekends ago we ventured south of the border for a much needed get away. We headed down to Bellingham, Washington for a few days for some shopping and to explore the area.

When looking for a place for a hike we came across Whatcom Falls Park which is located on 241 acres right in Bellingham. The scenery was breathtaking and it was an easy hike to some waterfalls nearby.

Check out our video below to see some of the beauty we saw there.

This summer we had a perfect day for kayaking. The weather was sunny with hardly a cloud in the sky. There was minimal wind and the water was so still you could see all the way to the bottom. It just doesn't get better than this.

We are back! Just posted a short on YouTube of a trip we did awhile back trying to get to Stewart Lake on the logging roads in Strathcona. We didn't make it this day due to all the fallen trees blocking our path, but we did get there at a later date.

Check out our latest video! Horne Lake is a beautiful place to kayak, we love it! In this video short we reminisce about our kayaking adventures here. We can't wait to get back out there!

One of our favourite things to do is kayaking. Normally, we are in the water by the third week of April. However, due to the pandemic we have had to put our ...

Dall's porpoises are powerful and fast! They have wide, strong bodies with a small head and do not have a visible beak (like Pacific White-Sided Dolphins). They can grow up to 7 1/2 feet and can weigh between 370-490 pounds! Incredible!

We saw these beauties on our whalewatching tour two years ago.

With the reality of the severity of Covid-19 and the park and destination closures on Vancouver Island (and elsewhere) due to the dangers of gathering in large crowds, we decided to pull from our huge collection of nature and island destination photos that we have stored on our external hard drive.
This week we featured the Esquimalt Lagoon. We used to live in Belmont Park which is just a short walk away, when our girls were younger. We have so many wonderful memories of spending time on the sandy beach enjoying the sun and surf.
A few years ago an interesting surprise showed up mixed in with the driftwood that has washed up on the beach over the years. Check out our video and the video description to find out more :)

With the restrictions in place, due to the pandemic, many public spaces are currently closed to the public to discourage large gatherings of people. This wee...
