Part of the first drop of Indigenous inspired Tarot Cards.

Before Raven stole the Sun and gave it to the people, the world was blanketed in complete shadow. The Sun represents the optimism of the world and should encourage one to await the dawn when things are darkest. Behold Raven’s gift for it will come every day to greet you on the horizon.

Depicted in the card is Raven moments after releasing the sun and bestowing its light upon the world. Raven’s feathers singed black from the heat changing its appearance forever to how we know it today

Part of the first drop of Indigenous inspired Tarot Cards.

Sinulhkay, the giant two-headed serpent, terrorized the lands of the West Coast, devouring and frightening away all of the animal people. The Serpent represents a trial in your life that you must overcome to discover greatness on the other side. The test will not be easy, but the things that matter rarely are.

The Serpent card depicts Sinulhkay, the Giant Two-Headed Serpent. In the foreground, four spears are silhouetted against Sinulhkay’s body. The legendary Serpent Slayer, Xwechtaal, would use these four spears to defeat Sinulhkay and unite the villages, forming what is now the Squamish Nation.

Win this Kalkalilh's Gaze limited edition print!

The print was designed during my stay at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity. The story of Kalkalilh was told to Squamish kids to scare them out of sneaking out at night. 👀

I was asked to make a design for for next year's Natuonal Indigenous People's Day celebration, which was an honor as it is the city i currently call home! It represents the four host nations of Burnaby: Sḵwx̱wú7mesh, xʷməθkʷəy̓əm, səlilwətaɬ, and kʷikʷəƛ̓əm. Here is a description of the work:

This artwork depicts the four host nation symbols as supernatural beings united on a shared canoe journey. Their paddles are raised in respect toward those watching from the shore, while the Thunderbird, a reimagining of Squamish’s logo, recites protocol.

The Wolf, a central figure of Tsleil-Waututh, reaches toward the water, where their reflection appears as a human—symbolizing the connection between the natural and supernatural worlds.

Flanking the Thunderbird are two salmon beings: one of the ocean and one of the river. The blue salmon represents xʷməθkʷəy̓əm, inspired by their logo. The red spawning salmon symbolizes the Kwikwetlem Nation, referencing the translation of their name: “Red fish up the river.”

In the background, the mountains known as the Sisters anchor the scene in the Burrard Inlet, whose waters connect the host nations to each other and link Burnaby to surrounding communities.

I had the incredible opportunity to collaborate with Arc'teryx earlier this year, designing a logo for the Indigenous Métis Inuit Belonging Council. Sharing the stories I grew up with in this context feels unreal!

I made these using my father Rick Harry's design back in 2014! He has been my mentor for my whole life and has always encouraged me to express my artistic vision using what ever tools felt natural for me to create with. We even took an Adobe Illustrator course together at VCC - Vancouver Community College when I was 16! This all helped to me become the digital artist I am today. Thanks pops! 😁
