ବଲାଙ୍ଗୀର ର ପ୍ରସିଦ୍ଧ ବଙ୍କର୍ ଚାଉଳବରା (since 1980) From last 5decades (more than 50 years) chaul bara becomes identity and soul of western Odisha. From early 1980's to now bankar's chaulbara shop served chaulbara to whole balangir. Chaulbara is an emotion and identity of balangir also soul of Western odisha. The bankar's chaulbara shop started by surendra nath and now its running by his son Rabindra. It's 45 years oldest chaulbara shop in balangir. The speciality of this shop is

their tamarind, tomato and besan mix chutney and ghuguni. Tried once, i am sure you will be never forget the combo taste of besan chutney and chrunchy chaul bara. You can found so many old chaulbara shops and thelas in balangir. Some are more than 30years old shop. *chaulbara *besan chutney

Nuakhai Bhetghat

No matters we are wherever throughout the year but it's confirmed to coming at home on the occasion of NUAKHAI. It's like a big fat family get together for all western Odisha. Mummy, papa, chacha, chachi, Bade papa, Badi mummy, dada, Dadi and cousins all people are togetherly worship maa samlei (another avatar of maa Durga ) and the head member of family (grand paa) offering nabarna (new paddy with several bhogs) to maa samlei. Then the head family member distributes the nabarna to all family members. We are celebrating this day by following

our western Odisha culture like wearing sambalpuri saree or clothes, dancing on sambalpuri song, listening sambalpuri folk songs and eating sambalpuri traditional dishes.

This is family get together on the ocassion of Nuakhai Bhetghat. Jai maa samalei nuakhai juhar A

Handibhanga Waterfall , Keonjhar❤️🤩👏🙏 The Waterfall is located near the village of Handibhanga. it is 45 km away from the town of Keonjar. The lord shiva Temple, Lord Hanuman Statue and two waterfalls adorn it's beautiful appearance. Absolutely marvellous and a must visit. Winter is the best time to visit.❤️

Due to this reason, it is also considered as one of the best places for picnickers.

One of the most amazing scenic place. You will find every where one thing for sure...greenery. Very good picnic spot. People can cook there, but need to take own utensils. Rain session is not a good time to visit there, do to the roads. From the gate till the water fall view & scenic is awesome, but road is not. The breeze is not in a good shape. Still friends go there with your family and friends. You will have a great time and awesome clicks too.😃

Odisha is home to as many as 62 scheduled tribes. In the ethnographic map of India, Odisha occupies an important place, for the settlement of the largest number of tribal communities here as compared to the other states and union territories.

The tribes of Odisha, have retained the rich and varied heritage of their life style, colourful dance and music forming an integral part of their festivals and culture. Each tribe has a cultural identity of its own.

With mindless industrialization causing rapid urbanization, the cradle of these tribal culture is no more the rustic hamlets of the countryside. As an intimate part of the tribal socio-cultural milieu, one needs to go through the tribal culture of the country to genuinely understand the spirit of tribal Odisha. They have an authenticity and a charm of their own and are among the most valuable legacies of our long and varied ethnic life style. Many have unfortunately become extinct and some tribal cultures are waiting helplessly at the down step of extinction.
