“I needed space to breathe and time to adjust to a whole new routine, and giving myself permission to do that was monumental. BUT the main reason I decided to pull back and retreat into my own energy was because yet again, I got my heart absolutely crushed (as one does), and it really triggered me to hide away and work on myself. When I say I’ve been doing non-stop shadow work, I mean I’ve been digging into the depths of my soul over this. It’s been a TRIP…and it’s still ongoing.”

Okay I’m just going to go ahead and say it…

Can we PLEEEEASE just run full tilt into this year ahead with zero expectations and full blown appreciation for EVERYTHING that comes our way?!

Because at this point, why not 🙃

Let’s vow to speak our minds.
Let’s commit to saying “NO” more.
Let’s book the random trips.
Let’s fall in and out of love as many times as we can.
Let’s tell our people how much they mean to us.
Let’s be unapologetic in everything we do.
Let’s stop living life for others.
Let’s prioritize ourselves more.
Let’s accept help when we need it.
Let’s slow down and take the scenic routes.
Let’s PLAY and release our inner children.
Let’s learn to love ourselves fiercely.

And lastly…

Let’s acknowledge that we can change our narrative at any given time & believe that we have the courage to do so ♥️

I scheduled this in wayyy before the craziness of the season set in, so there’s a very good chance that I’m sipping festive drinks, enjoying the company around me and feeling grateful AF (let’s hope so anyways 😉)

Whatever you may be doing today, I hope it fills your cup (literally & figuratively) and I hope you indulge in a little extra ✨magic✨ this Christmas.

In case you missed it, I’ve decided to take a hiatus from the podcast & this space.

Mentally, I need a break.

I’ve been feeling the urge to retreat into my own energy and adopt a more private approach to life. Which is weird, I know…

I’ve loved connecting with everyone on here through sharing my stories & thoughts (and glimpses into my personal life) but now…I need to work on things behind the scenes and keep to myself more.

I hope this community has encouraged you to embrace vulnerability, journal your heart out & have those conversations you’ve been putting off. I’ve learned so much by starting this creative pursuit & I can’t thank you all enough for being here and sharing it with me.

I’ll be back, don’t worry. But for now, I need some major “me time”.

You’re welcome to stick around, I’ll be posting things here and there, but I likely won’t be engaging much until I feel ready again.

The secrets out!

There’s days when I have things all figured out, but majority of the time I’m just winging it 🤷🏻‍♀️

And that’s okay!

But I also think we need to talk about that more. Social media has a way of making us think people are living these perfect lives, when in reality, most of us are just figuring it out each day as we go.

So, let’s start that conversation.

Parenting feels like a never ending learning curve where I feel like Super Mom some days and a failure other days. I ask myself way too often if I’m doing enough or if I should be doing things differently. I second guess myself more than I’d like to admit and when it comes to my personal life, well, it’s a bit of a trial and error 😂

If you relate to this, then congrats! You’re human. Welcome to the club 😉

You know that feeling you get when the weight of the world is on your shoulders and everything just feels OVERWHELMING?

Welp, you could be causing that for yourself.

…I said it.

Sometimes we get hung up in other people’s expectations of us BUT sometimes we’re the ones who are setting them up for ourselves.

Perfectionism usually rears it’s ugly head when this happens and things can just feel TOUGH.

So, my advice to you is this:

Take a breather. Reevaluate WHY you’re being so hard on yourself and think about HOW you can move forward more gently. Ask yourself WHERE these expectations are coming from and WHAT you can do to make them more realistic & rewarding.

Self awareness goes a long way and a simple check in with self can make all the difference 😌

I’ll be the first to admit that I used to get wayyy too hung up on timelines in my life (mostly thinking I needed to accomplish x,y,z by a certain age)

And you know what?

It was such a waste of time and exhausting 😣

Society wants us to believe that EVERYONE has to adhere to certain events and milestones as we age and it’s toooootal BS 🤷🏻‍♀️

Do things your own way. Don’t worry what others are doing. Live life completely backwards if you want!

And remember…

You’re killing it (no matter what stage you’re at) ♥️
