Words can’t describe the incredible hurt and very untimely loss of my best friend Gord. After a 43 year friendship, watching his kids grow up and my kids affectionately calling him “Uncle Gord “ the Lord took him to heaven. An incredible man with extremely amazing qualities rarely seen in people today. Always patient, very slow to angry, compassionate, always seeing the good in people He was always looking out for me and was always the voice of reason when I needed to hear it and even if I didn’t want to hear it. An amazing friend, husband to Sue-Anne, father and grandfather to his family. Although the hurt is bad now I know all the fantastic remembers will eventually erase some of the pain. Love you Gord. RIP. ❤️👍

Hazen and I paddled into a couple weedy bays to do some casting which gave me a chance to test one of my custom lures. Although we were chasing pike this nice Large Mouth was brave enough to take a run (swim) at it. With the lure measuring 7” before the tail that’s makes this bass around 16” give or take. Gotta love it.

Canada Day Eve annual celebration with the family thanks to our son in law Jordon Stephen Keates and daughter Hannah han. With friends, family and neighbors watching the light show lit of the Lindsay sky with music that kept the rest of Lindsay awake. Thanks again guys. I’ve often commented that I don’t do much summer coyote hunting however I never ignore the desperate phone calls I get from frustrated farmers that are loosing livestock to predation. Three dead calves over a 2 week period are too many in this farm. Rabbit distress got this male into the field north of the pasture and rodent squeak had him sneaking up the field to an easy 120 yards shot.

I’ve been walking in on the same cow paths in this new ranch to fill a bear barrel for the past month now. With over 1000 acres to wander I like to carry my GPS and waypoint land marks until I familiar myself with the property. Besides the bears this 8 point shed is a promising sign for the fall deer season.

Finally starting to see more activity at my second bait site and they are “BIG”. Time to sweeten the bait mix to see if I can get one of them there in daylight. The property is in a very remote area with no pressure but conditions need to be prefect to get bears this size to get “daytime comfortable “
