Bears were hit and miss thru the whole spring season this year. I sat a few evenings watching smaller ones hoping for a last light surprises but the big boys never showed up. I’ll be back at it in September. Time to do a little trout fishing and set cameras on deer trails for the summer.

I wasn’t going to buy another turkey tag this year mostly because of the price but after seeing so many big Toms in the different farms I hunt, plus the fact that I get a kick out of turkey hunting, I paid the money. I’m glad I did. I did a quick bit of editing last night and ….well…. The video says it all. Enjoy👍🦃

A text book morning turkey hunt. 4:30 am wake up, drive and set up time 4:45, slip coffee in the dark until low morning light at 5:00 am, Toms start gobbling at 5:20 am, Toms fly down at 5:45, Toms see my homemade decoys at 5:55am, one shot fired on this 23 lbs beauty at 6:05 am and I’m at the local Tim Hortons for a coffee refill by 6:30 am. Tag one filled. Tag two is now burning a hole in my pocket.

This little guy showed up a few hours after I set the barrel. This are is very remote but looks very promising for the spring hunt. I’ll have 3 more bait sites set up by the weekend then the work starts trying to keep the barrels full. With lots of fresh bear tracks in all the areas I hunt it’s looking like a good season
