Mary Ajang is an educator, community advocate, and dedicated mother whose life’s work reflects resilience, service, and an unwavering commitment to uplifting others.
She began her career as a trained teacher and later served as a Women’s Education Supervisor with the Adult Education Program under the International Rescue Committee (IRC) in Kakuma Refugee Camp, Kenya (2000–2005). Mary also worked as a Health Representative with the Kenya Council of Churches in Kakuma, supporting families and strengthening community health initiatives.
After relocating to Australia, Mary continued her passion for community empowerment. She served as an African-Australian Migrant Liaison Officer and worked with several youth support organizations, helping young adults navigate education, settlement, and personal development.
Mary holds a range of professional qualifications, including teaching certificates, a Certificate III in Business, a Diploma in Community Services, and a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care. She is currently in her second year pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and Care (Teaching) at the University of South Australia.
Beyond her professional achievements, Mary is a proud widow and single mother of seven beautiful children who inspire her purpose and strengthen her leadership journey.
