Concerned residents of Riverside gathered at a recent community meeting to discuss growing safety concerns, with Windsor Police urging the public to stay vigilant, report suspicious activity, and work together to deter crime.

If it is a sunny day and the groundhog sees its shadow, it goes back to sleep for six more weeks of winter. If the weather is cloudy and the groundhog does not see its shadow, it stays outside, meaning that the worst of winter is over and spring will soon arrive.

Today, is Bell Let's Talk Day that encourages a national conversation about mental health and promotes awareness and action built on anti-stigma, care and access to supports.

Did you know:

-1.25 million young Canadians need mental health support

-Nearly half of young Canadians who need mental health support aren't receiving it

-66% to 75% of mental health issues in youth have an onset before the age of 24

Help support youth mental health by participating in a national text-to-donate campaign. You can donate $5 by text with 100% of the proceeds going to six youth mental health providers. You can double your impact as Bell will match all $5 donations up to $1 million.

Optimist Club of Riverside is excited to begin the year with their Annual Essay Contest! This is a wonderful opportunity for youth in the Riverside/ East Windsor Area to showcase their creativity and optimism.

2025 Essay Contest Topic:
“How Optimism has Paved my Road to Success”

Who Can Participate?
-Youth under the age of 19 as of October 1, 2024, who either:
-Reside in the Riverside/East Windsor area
-Attend school in one of our area Schools
