Police seek public's assistance identifying suspects in a series of West Edmonton break and enters: The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) is seeking the public's assistance identifying three suspects involved in a series of garage break and enters that have occurred this spring in the Westmount and 124 Street areas

Between April 3 and May 9, 2025, 12 events have been reported to police, typically occurring in the early mornings, between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. The suspects gain access to the garage via back alleys and are typically on bicycles, taking anything that can be ridden or carried away.

The suspects are described as typically 2-3 males who are of average build, average height, and one female who is described as Indigenous and heavy set, with brown hair and glasses. A photo of the group is included.

“We’re encouraging residents—especially those in west Edmonton with alley-access garages—to take steps that can help reduce the risk of property crime,” said Constable Carrie Bosse of the Edmonton Police Service West Division. “Some effective methods include installing alarms on garage doors, using secure locks on side doors, and adding motion-activated lighting or security cameras. These measures can help create safer spaces for everyone.”

Police are also encouraging residents to keep a record of serial numbers for valuable items, which can assist with recovering property if a theft does occur.

EDMONTON, ALBERTA - One of Canada’s most-wanted fugitives, sought by police in connection with a deadly mass shooting outside an Edmonton lounge in 2022, is one of two men wanted for murder in a homicide that happened five years ago.

The Edmonton Police Service has charged Saed Osman with first-degree murder in the Dec. 8, 2020, fatal shooting of 25-year-old Mahad Bashir Farah downtown. An autopsy the next day determined Farah died of a gunshot wound, and his death was a homicide.

Earlier this month, on May 8 – nearly four-and-a-half years after the shooting – homicide detectives issued warrants for first-degree murder for Osman and Amir Hussen, who is currently in custody for unrelated charges.

Osman has been wanted Canada-wide in relation to the March 12, 2022, shooting outside Edmonton’s Ertale Lounge at 124 Street and 118 Avenue. Police believe suspects fired roughly 70 rounds into a crowded area outside the lounge.

Imbert George, 28, was killed, and seven others were injured. Investigators described it as a mass shooting of innocent bystanders. Edmonton police have arrested four suspects in that investigation, including a man who allegedly illegally sold a gun used in the shooting.
