Animal lost its fear of people because it needed food and water to survive because we destroy the planet. Yes more green space.🍃

A black bear caught on video stealing food from picnickers at Burnaby Mountain Park has been killed, according to B.C. conservation officers.

The bear was reported multiple times over several days taking food near Simon Fraser University, with one Aug. 31 incident going viral online. Officers say the animal had lost its fear of people and could no longer be considered safe to coexist.

Some residents, however, are calling for more green space, wildlife corridors, and stricter penalties for people who leave food or garbage out—arguing the problem isn’t the bears, but human behaviour.
