A little behind-the-scenes from in the studio as I connected via Zoom today with Ryan, Pete, and Melissa, aka The Food Bank Fellas (yes, Melissa has joined this year as a fellow "Fella"). This is what it looks like when I take a picture during the call so I can share it with you here. The Food Bank Fellas are trying to raise $15,000 and 30,000 meals for our community through the Food Bank of Waterloo Region. You can help them here: https://www.thefoodbank.ca/food-and-fund-drive-fundraising/?form=FUNJHEGVWLA&fundraiser=NGMEPMFX&member=SNJBVACT

Thanks for all the help yesterday in extending the Honeymoon Period in the Farwell household. I've now learned that if there's a pair of pants on the floor, you pick them up, no questions asked and no complaints made. And this rule applies even if they're not your pants! So, I made sure to test out the new rule on My Beloved yesterday, making sure she couldn't miss my jeans when she got home from work...

I called on my friends in the automotive industry today for a little favour. Maybe you're a mechanic, maybe you're a shuttle driver. My simple request is to keep your shuttle tuned to 570 NewsRadio, and if you're a mechanic, to set the customer's vehicle to 570 NewsRadio so that's what they hear when they get back into their car. I'm sure they'll be grateful instead of angry, right?! The person who emailed this didn't sign a name, but I like what they did. A lot. :)

Thanks to Eyes on Waterloo for sharing their story this morning on the show. This residents' group was formed in response to a decision at Waterloo council. The experience got the residents engaged in the local political process and encouraged them to watch meetings more closely. If you'd like to start something similar in your neighbourhood, you can reach out to Jeff for more information. His email is [email protected].

I'm not sure we'd all agree that we built Ion light rail "for cheap," but here's a look at the project as we work on Phase 2 into Cambridge (watch for an appearance from one of our Friday Four regulars.

This video looks at how Waterloo, Ontario built the ION LRT at a fraction of the cost of most Canadian and American transit projects.Keep Urbanity rolling:Jo...

The City of Cambridge is naming the announcer's booth at the Kinsmen Stadium Accessible Baseball Diamond after beloved local teacher Mark Woodfield. Also known as "The Kindy Cop" to students at Moffat Creek Public School, Mark's cancer diagnosis is grim and he's now been given just weeks to live. Kudos to Cambridge for dedicating the announcer's booth to Mark. Friends have also established a GoFundMe for the Woodfield family.

Everyone has that one special teacher they never forget, and … Kolby Thomson-Latimer needs your support for Support for the Woodfield Family During Mark’s Final Days
