Around 10 years ago had me shoot some promotional photos for their production of Gas Girls. I was going through some old shoots for old theatre production photos I was hired to do and stumbled across this image. I LOVE this image… and I can’t say it was thanks to me; the director Quincy Armorer, an absolute gem of a human with talent coming out of every pore, took the time to walk me through what he hoped for, what the play was at its core (I had not read nor seen it yet) and he and his performers were collaborative, trusting and engaged. And yeah, the lighting is cool too. But really; I remember the sense of creativity and effort that resulted in this photo most… and how happy I felt when the stills popped up on a reasonable screen.
Anyway, fun times. Self indulgent post done. Joy, achieved. I hope you like it too. And do look into playwright Donna-Michelle St Bernard! You can buy a copy of the play via playwrightscanadapress
