What an absolute pleasure it has been to teach our oldest granddaughter who is 14 ... to sew! She is planning a future in textiles and design and made the art and the pillow during her visit here from the UK. I used Canva for help with my bear in a canoe design and she used her own talent to create the four "stamps" on her pillow which she sewed! Her illustrations celebrate all the little creatures she has met in Canada. Her favorite are the Firefly's which have been abundant during her visit. We are so proud of her. More to come on how we transferred our art on to the canvas!

Goats and Mad Cap Hats! Our hats are re-stocked at the Loyalist Trading Co just east of the Genora Ferry on the Loyalist Parkway. Kingston and area customers can find a good selection of hats at this shop owned and operated by our good friends at Cook's Gourmet and Hard Cider Kitchen. Yes! We will continue to make our Sunblockers for the upcoming season even though the exchange rate/tariff wars right now for re-stocking fabrics is brutal! We are so pleased to announce that we will be returning to the hat stands of two of our long-time favourite retail partners, BeauChapeau Hat Shop and Avant-Garden Shop. Look for our hats in Beau Chapeau sometime next week and in Avant Garden Shop before the end of the month. We will also be returning to the Father's Day Art in the Garden event at Kiwi Gardens in Perth, ON in June. Our Sunblocker is also available as a sewing pattern for the DIYers! Our Story

Home of Tori and Adrian Capes, designers and makers of original millinery. Our work is available through our online shop, at a selection of juried artisan events and through a handful of small boutiques.

Mad Cap Hats are the original designs of Tori Capes, certified milliner. We have been producing original headwear since 1987 and have produced collections for other companies as well.

This coming year, 2019, will be the last winter collection as we start to wind down towards retirement and do online/small boutique and small show sales only. However, we plan to grow the sun hat collection with the addition of men’s hats again this upcoming season.
