Sharing something I learned from Fireweed this year… their seed pods open up by the gentlest of taps when they are ready to be released to the world around them.

It’s that awkward season now where we are still harvesting plants to dry as well as collecting seeds. It’s hecka busy around here! Thank you for your patience with the tea and dried herbals side of things. 💜💜💜 Angie

Why do I feel it is important to have a network of herbalists working together?

Because, our end goal should be to bring health to the individuals we work with.

And if we can’t, we will know a herbalist that will and we can send them to someone we know can bring them back into balance.

Maybe it’s a pie in the sky ideal… but maybe it’s what we need more of in this world.

I got to visit a beautiful garden belonging to another herbalist the other day. We’ve met a few times prior to this (she visited the Herbiary and we were at a market together) so I already knew she was a beautiful soul.

We wandered around her medicinal plants and I got to meet some I hadn’t seen growing yet.

I have a new love and appreciation for plants I’ve been working with for a while, because I got to physically experience them.

After we picked our herbs for tea, we sat at her table.

She poured me a refreshing and beautifully colored drink made with bee balm syrup she made - a recipe that was passed down in her family.

She shared the books that she loves to use in her practise for reference.

I have added them all to my wish list to slowly grow the Herbiary library.

I got to learn more about who she is and what she loves - her story.

That’s where the shift is… we aren’t in competition, we are connected, we are kin. I hope more people in business could grasp this idea.

Being a herbalist means we are always learnng and growing, and it’s better to do this together… in community with each other.

It isn’t about postioning ourselves as the expert… it’s all about learning, growing and soaking up the knowledge that others have.

If you have something that I know needs something stronger than tea… I know a lady that can get you fixed up. 💜💜💜

How I’m growing the Medicinal Meadow.
I can’t be bothered with rows and square edges… give me wild, meandering and natural. 💜

For me, a garden must be natural,
not tamed or trimmed to perfection,
but allowed to breathe,
to sprawl, to bloom in its own wild rhythm.

A place where silence speaks,

Creation of the Medicinal Meadow isn’t a quick process.

It’s intentional, slow, and will continue to grow over the upcoming years.

Those of you that have been out and meandered on the trails with me, you can say, “I was there when it was just a bunch of pathways.”

I’m excited to get even more patches of my medicinal plants over there after I’ve collected seeds.

The trees and shrubs are slowly making their way in there this year. I should be done transplanting mid-August with plenty of time for the young ones to establish solid roots for the Winter.

It’s kind if a consolidation process.

Right now, everything is scattered throughout the property.

Thank you everyone for sharing this exciting time of growth and creation with me.
