This will also be our last book club meeting before the top three finalists in each genre are selected, so there’s plenty to discuss as we head into the next stage of the awards.

If you’re new here, welcome!

The Canadian Book Club Awards started with a pretty simple idea: why should great books only be recognized if they fit into a narrow definition of “literary”?

What about other genres that we all loved so much? Why should fantastic business books, romance titles or inspiring wellness stories be ineligible for an award – when those are so often the books we share with others?

So, we started The Canadian Book Club Awards. An award that recognizes great writing and memorable stories – as chosen by readers.

Today, the CBCA is Canada’s largest readers’ choice book awards, with 13 genres and well over 1,000 submissions since we began in 2017.

Whether you’re an author, an avid reader, or simply someone who is always looking for your next great book - there’s a place for you here.

Welcome to the CBCA. 🤍
