Turning a love of doodling into a good ol' wholesome relatable story about someone doing their best to protect the things they care about within the limitations of specific capacity, abilities, or skillset. And a fun little lesson on how to successfully navigate funding opportunities for creative projects.

Maybe that second part will be useful at some point.

On a personal note it’s so cool to get to work in northern AB; it’s where I started experimenting with a camera for the first time while I was still running a pest control company — it’ll always be hilarious and amazing to me that there are people I’ve worked with to help kill their bugs, then to make stuff/ produce media for - to get to go back with an entirely new skill set was fun

To support RISER artists whose shows were cancelled due to the pandemic, Why Not Theatre offered a digital residency opportunity, providing funding and resources for the development of digitally-based performance works.

Leek ran a series of consultation periods with the artists, and provided film production resources, crew & creative support to three of the RISER Digital projects. Super grateful for the chance to work with all these lovely folks.

RISER Digital includes experimental works by Patricia Allison, Batz Recinos, & Clarissa Vàsquez of Creative Mafia, Leslie Ting, and Tiny Bear Jaws.
