Sofie Andreou M.Eng AI Strategist & Educator Helping businesses Leverage the Power of Digital Marketing through training and services. Power by Sofie Andreou. That feeds our strategy and planning session.

In the area of digital marketing, we start most relationships by helping you create your competitive strategy & plan. I do this by first conducting a competitive digital marketing audit & action plan for you. Next, if it makes sense, I help you discover what you are best at and either we train or help you outsource the rest! I provide digital marketing training, plus we are a full-service digital marketing agency. By full-service agency, I mean we will pop in and capture materials we can then use as your social media posts! I am the author of the Your Social Marketing Strategy & Plans Books, Webinar & Video series. I am continuing evolving it and deliver it 100s of professionals monthly, mostly virtually these days. Our Digital Marketing Services include Digital Marketing Strategies & Audits, Digital Marketing Plans, Training, Video Tutorials, Certification, Courses, Google 360 Photos e-Commerce Website, Social Selling, Google Listing, SEO Google Listing ... Posting & Training. From 2002 to 2019 I created and delivered the "sold out" third-year class, Online Marketing Principles, at Trent University. I was lucky enough to have over 3000 students in my class in that time. As the demands of my own clients increased, I evolved those materials and now deliver my course to business professionals as Digital Marketing Courses and Certification. I am proud to be recognized as a digital marketing leader in various groups including; Economic Development, Chambers of Commerce, small business enterprise centers, fortune 500 companies and the online business community. My practice is focused on digital marketing training for both small, large, local and international companies. Regularly, I have been asked to appear on regional television shows to speak as the local expert providing updates on digital marketing as it impacts business practices of all sizes. I holds my undergraduate degree in Computer Science and my Masters of Engineering in Information Systems from the University of Toronto. I have had the pleasure of being the Chair of the award-winning Bears' Lair Entrepreneurship Competition, on the Board of Directors for the Women's Business Network of Peterborough, a Director of BREI Business Retentions & Expansion International, a Judge of EDCO's Economic Development Council of Ontario Annual Marketing Awards, a founding member of StartUpPeterborough, a member of the Peterborough Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and currently a founder of FemSteamPtbo. My husband is my partner in our company. We seem to always be working, even when we're camping in our VW Bus with our two dogs! I get my balance by being outside, either kayaking or hiking with my man and my two dogs, Ruby & Lady.

One of the most frequent questions I get as we kick off an AI workshop is:

“What information is safe to put into AI?”

It may not be the flashiest question, but it is one of the most important.

Before using any AI tool, you and your employees should know:

🟢 What information is safe to use in Public AI Tools

🟡 What information should be used only inside an approved enterprise environment

🔴 What confidential, personal or sensitive information must never be entered into an unapproved tool

The answer also depends on which version of the tool you have, how the information is handled and what your policies are.

This is why AI governance cannot be separated from AI productivity. We start with AI Governance & Create your AI Use Policy.

Employees need more than a list of restrictions. They need understandable guidelines, approved tools, practical examples and a safe place to ask questions.

When people understand the guardrails, they can use AI more confidently—not less.

Responsible AI training should help people recognize both the opportunity and the responsibility that comes with it.

This is how AI Productivity begins!

You don’t need ten more AI tools.
You—and your team—just need help leveraging the power of the AI already built into the tools you use every day.
For a Microsoft 365 organization, that might mean using Copilot to:
• Summarize a long email conversation
• Turn rough notes into a professional document
• Analyze and interpret information in Excel
• Prepare for a meeting
• Create the first draft of a presentation
• Find information across approved organizational files
For a Google Workspace organization, Gemini powerfully supports similar work within Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides and Drive.
ChatGPT can complement these tools through brainstorming, research, writing, problem-solving and the creation of reusable assistants—all within your organization’s privacy, security and governance guidelines.
The opportunity isn’t simply to “use AI.”
It is to reduce the friction you and your team experience every day, using sustainable tools that fit naturally and safely into the work you are already doing.
Good AI training should make work feel clearer and more manageable—not introduce another complicated platform that you or your employees are expected to learn.

I consistently see that lasting change begins with meaningful hands-on learning.
Over the past year, I’ve had the opportunity to deliver AI training—both in person and virtually—to tourism operators, municipal professionals, Community Futures leaders, dental hygienists, manufacturers, retailers, realtors, service providers, human resources professionals, education providers, business owners, nonprofit organizations and so many more.
These groups do very different work, but they usually arrive with the same questions:
How can we use AI authentically in the work we actually do?
How can it save us time without creating more work?
How do we protect confidential information?
Where do we even begin?
The answer isn’t another generic demonstration of everything AI can do.
The most valuable learning happens when we start with someone’s real day—and then go hands-on with the work itself: the overflowing inbox, the report that takes hours, the spreadsheet filled with information that needs to be interpreted, the repetitive client communication, the need to keep up with changing trends, hundreds of pages that must be reviewed and summarized, or the SOPs and policies that must be understood and followed.
Then we identify where AI can genuinely save time, improve quality and reduce repetitive work—and where human judgment must remain.
That is the kind of AI training I believe in: safe, practical, approachable, responsible and connected to the work people are already doing.
Over the next few weeks, I’ll be sharing some of the most important lessons I’ve learned from helping organizations move from curiosity about AI to confident, practical use.

What happens when Loan Officers and Business Advisors stop talking about AI… and actually start using it hands-on in real workflows?

This week I had the privilege of leading a full-day AI workshop with Community Futures organizations across Western Ontario, and the conversations were incredible.

We explored:
✨ AI-assisted financial analysis in Excel
✨ AI-generated lending summaries in Microsoft Word
✨ Multi-document review workflows
✨ Workflow automation possibilities
✨ Voice AI coaching while driving and debriefing meetings
✨ Governance, security, and enterprise AI discussions

One of the most exciting moments was watching participants upload a complete lending package into Microsoft Word with Copilot and generate structured summaries in minutes.

The discussion quickly evolved from:
“Can AI do this?”
to:
“How do we implement this responsibly and effectively?”

The future of lending and business advisory isn’t about replacing expertise.

It’s about combining human judgment and relationship-building with AI-assisted productivity, consistency, and insight.

I wrote a recap article about the experience, key takeaways, and the exciting workflow possibilities we explored:

AI in Action: How Community Futures Loan Officers Are Beginning to Transform Lending Workflows https://www.sofieandreou.com/single-post/ai-in-action-how-community-futures-loan-officers-are-beginning-to-transform-lending-workflows

Would love to hear what AI discoveries, experiments, or workflow ideas others are exploring right now too. 🚀

Big thank you for the Peterborough and the Kawarthas Chamber of Commerce and Peterborough Area Fundraisers’ Network for bringing everyone together.

More to come soon! I look forward to sharing all my information from today's session in the form of a podcast, inforgraphics, videos and of course the PowerPoint through the Chamber team.

If you need anything in the meantime, feel free to reach out to me
