If you're going to watch any video of mine this year, *let it be this one.*

It's not just about the stunning visuals or the emotional script—it's about the shared dedication Alex and I bring to our craft; a dedication that's brought to life in this film.

When Alex approached me (this last) Friday the 3rd to help create a message to his audience, I knew just what I had to do.

In just two days, we turned an in intention into a story—a story that speaks to the heart of our community in Victoria, and especially Alex's clientele; the lifeblood of his business, of which he greatly appreciates.

Having known Alex for years and truly understanding him as a client & my friend, I essentially made it my life's mission to produce this film for you....because there is a purpose behind it:

This video is more than a plea for votes; it's a celebration of passion, a testament to what can be achieved when we believe in our vision, and when we believe in ourselves.

For those who know the glimmer in my eyes when I speak of my work, you understand this is my purpose. And for Alex, it's no different. We're not just passionate about what we do; we do it for you, for the community, for the sheer love of excellence.

You may not know Alex personally, you may not be a car enthusiast, but this isn't just about detailing. It's about supporting a dream, a local business, and the spirit of our small community of Victoria.

If what Alex says in this video resonates with you whatsoever, please head to the contest page linked in this post.

You're not just voting for Alex, you’re voting for us both—for our vision, for our dedication to our craft, & for the core values we believe in.

This is Alex Flatman of Stellar Finish, and I am proud to share his message with you:

Nestled on the rugged west coast of Vancouver Island, Port Renfrew is a place where the beauty of nature is still largely untouched. So it's no wonder I jumped at the opportunity when Jenna Turnbull from RE/MAX Camosun contacted me to create a video showcasing her latest listing in the Wild Coast Cottage community on Baird Road, I couldn't have been more thrilled.

I invite you to watch this short and fun video I produced for her fantastic cottage listing, and discover the allure of this enchanting wilderness community for yourself!

Had a great time shooting some corporate portraits of the leadership team at RE/MAX Camosun. We're working on an upcoming project and wanted to try out a few angles, backdrops, etc. We landed on this. Not bad for a test shoot! What do you think?

As a born and raised islander who's taken about 103,933 times in my life, I sometimes take for granted just how spectacular the journey is from Victoria to Vancouver. Of course -- as luck has it sometimes -- taking the ferry during golden-hour is one of those lottery wins in my opinion. You quickly remember just how blessed we are to live on the coast. Here's a few pics I snapped on my way back from a business trip to Vancouver in the summer of 2018. I just love the colours in this first pic, don't you?! | | | | | | | | || | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | @ Victoria, British Columbia

A moody shot of Pacific Rim Park just south of Tofino, 2018. I remember that it was a little stormy that day and I'm too much of an islander in that I had no umbrella and also didn't even pack a jacket. So, I drove up onto Radar Hill where the wind was calmer and hid in some trees until the rain calmed down. I snapped this pic on Radar Hill.⁣

Of course, featuring the X-Trail. ⁣⁣

This one took a little bit of patience. I missed the little pull-off "pocket" on the highway that barely fits a vehicle. Someone was either behind me, or oncoming. When I missed it on the way back home I told myself, "No way dude, turn around. You are not missing this one. Don't be lazy. It's worth it." So I turned around and made it. Best out of three, I guess. ⁣

This was a powerful spot. I probably stood here in awe for about 45 minutes with my camera before I even took a picture. I always feel devoted to give these amazing landscapes and locations the justice they deserve. Sure, sometimes you luck out. Sometimes you really have to "work the scene" to feel inspired. But for locations like this...I spend most of my time precariously placing my tripod on boulders, waiting for the clouds to soften, and using my jacket as an umbrella for the camera while I wait for the right moment. ⁣I feel like I'm failing the universe somehow if I just "spray and pray" with my camera and try to edit it later.

In the end, this photo ultimately took me a little over an hour to take. But looking back I still think it's one of my favourites. Certainly it was worth every minute.⁣
