Before a book goes to print, every page is carefully reviewed again. Checking for formatting consistency, spacing, punctuation, page numbers, image placement, and those small details that can easily be missed on a screen.
Seeing a manuscript in proof form often changes everything. I can’t emphasize this enough: seeing the printed proof is necessary. Tiny edits become more noticeable, layouts feel different, and the book truly begins to come to life.
In publishing, this is one of the biggest non-negotiables. No matter how many times a manuscript has been edited on screen, reviewing the physical proof is an essential part of creating a polished, professional book.
It’s a meticulous process, but it’s one of the final steps that helps ensure every book is ready for readers.
