🌊🌧️ NEW BACK HOME — A NOR’EASTER AT THE LIGHTHOUSE KEEPER’S HOUSE
It’s 1958, and a powerful Nor’easter has reached the New England coast.
The Atlantic is pounding against the rocks, rain is sweeping across the shoreline, and the lighthouse continues its lonely watch through the storm.
But inside the keeper’s house, everything is warm and quiet. The fire is burning low, the old radio is silent, and there’s nowhere you need to go until morning.
Our newest Classic Gold: Back Home experience takes you through a full stormy night at a lighthouse keeper’s house — from the cozy rooms inside to the covered porch and the lighthouse tower itself.
For 7 hours, there’s no music, no talking and no narration. Just crashing ocean waves, coastal wind, steady rain and the comforting sounds of an old house sheltering you from the storm.
Perfect for sleeping, relaxing, reading, or simply escaping to another time for a while.
Turn down the lights, get comfortable and let the lighthouse keep watch tonight.
🌊 Welcome back to 1958. Welcome Home.

📻 BACK IN 1985 — September 30
What if you woke up this morning… 41 years ago?
On the radio, Dire Straits were at #1 with “Money for Nothing,” followed by Kool & The Gang, Wham!, Phil Collins and Ready for the World. 🎶
At the movies, Back to the Future was still packing theaters, alongside Rambo: First Blood Part II, Cocoon, A View to a Kill and St. Elmo’s Fire. And when you got home, television meant shows like Scarecrow and Mrs. King, Kate & Allie, Newhart and Cagney & Lacey. 📺
Gas was about $1.19 a gallon, a first-class stamp was 20 cents, and the federal minimum wage was $3.35 an hour.
And then there was the video store. Rows of VHS tapes, handwritten membership cards, trying to grab the new release before somebody else did…and, of course:
“Be Kind, Rewind.” 📼
No streaming. No endless scrolling through thousands of choices. Sometimes picking the movie was half the fun.
September 30, 1985. If you could spend tonight there, what would you rent from the video store? 🎬

There was something different about radio after midnight in the 1980s. The DJs spoke a little softer, the roads grew quieter, and familiar songs somehow sounded more personal in the dark. From late-night dedications to waiting beside the cassette deck with a finger on RECORD, we remember a time when the radio wasn't just playing music — it was keeping us company.
