There’s something really horrible and awful that my PERFECTIONISM is causing me to do.

This thing that I do…

It’s resulted in me wasting years of my life spending way too much time thinking and planning… and not enough time actually executing my plans.

It’s resulted in me obsessively adding more and more detail to my plans and strategies for my life, goals, and business… and missing out on the opportunity to impact and help others right now.

And it’s led me to question myself at times… if I’ll ever really take action and achieve my goals.

Now, the good news is that I’m aware of what this one really terrible thing is that my fear causes me to do.

And…

I have 2 AMAZING strategies that I now use in my life to help prevent these things from happening.

I would never suggest that someone should be grateful for the painful things that have happened in their life.

However, instead of recycling unconstructive thoughts in our heads about negative things happening in our lives… we can learn to create more constructive thoughts even in the most painful situations that life has to throw at us.

And one way to do that is by focusing our thoughts on GRATITUDE.

Sometimes it just feels impossible to MOVE ON when something difficult has happened in our lives.

Because it isn’t just the fact that things didn’t turn out the way we wanted that makes us feel bad.

The real suffering that has a tendency to pop up comes from the negative thoughts that start to consume our minds, which can then cause us to go from feeling bad about the situation in general to feeling bad about ourselves… and then we start questioning our self-worth.

Sound familiar?

Ok, so then what can we do to reduce (and even prevent) the amount of suffering in our lives when painful circumstances show up and we’re struggling?

I’m going to share the single most important MINDSET SHIFT that has fundamentally changed my life in a positive direction.

It has brought more and more SELF-LOVE and BELIEF into my world even in moments that have been extremely challenging, sad, frustrating, and disappointing.

It’s a simple shift that most people don’t even see because they’re frequently too obsessed with trying to be happy in a pursuit that often makes them feel more unhappy… and they just can’t seem to understand why.

a) Reconsider “how” we see things in our lives, and

With so many people giving advice these days on performance development & goal achievement, I sometimes worry that we’re getting overly focused on developing external strategies like our morning routines and daily habits… and we’re not spending enough time talking about the importance of what our self-talk sounds like as we execute all of those strategies.

If you were to rate your mental health on a scale from 0 to 3 right now, how would you rate yourself?

-0 means that you don’t currently have any concerns with your mental health.

-1 means that you’ve been feeling a bit down lately or you have some mild concerns about your mental health.

-2 means that you have moderate concerns about your mental health.

-And 3 means that you have serious concerns about your mental health and may be experiencing suicidal thoughts.

Well…

If you rated yourself as anything but a 0, I want to encourage you to seek support right now.

Even if you are only at a 1, if you have any level of concern about your mental health, then please utilize the strategies in this week’s video and seek help.

This is National Su***de Prevention Week… and PREVENTION is key!

In order to prevent things from getting worse it is essential that we seek help early before things escalate and I hope you’ll use this video as a tool in helping you reach out for support.
