Still guessing what to charge as a creator? Read this
Save this before you send your next pitch or rate sheet
If you’re charging 100 dollars for a full-day shoot, multiple revisions, usage rights, and travel, you’re not underpricing. You’re working for free
Here’s how to start charging your worth as a content creator
1. Know your value
You’re not just taking a photo. You’re offering storytelling, editing, creative direction, production, distribution, and trust. Brands aren’t paying for a deliverable. They’re investing in your influence and creativity
2. Break it down
Instead of one flat fee, separate your rate into day rate, editing, travel, usage, and exclusivity. When brands see the breakdown, they understand your value
3. Charge for usage
If a brand wants to run ads or use your content on their website or billboards, that’s licensing. This is where many creators miss out. Charging for usage is how you go from a few hundred to thousands per project
If you’ve ever said you don’t know what to charge, that ends today
