Headed by Producer Darren Reiter, Purple Productions is a Vancouver-based film production company with a focus on creating locally shot independent feature films. Darren most recently finished filming the edgy & hilarious romantic comedy, “Random Acts of Romance,” in conjunction with Director Katrin Bowen. Featuring Amanda Tapping, “Random Acts of Romance” was financed in part by Telefilm Canada a
nd Rogers Telefund, will be broadcast by Super Channel in 2013 and had its world premiere at the 2012 Vancouver International Film Festival. Prior work includes “Amazon Falls,” an uncompromising 88 minute drama that screened in the 2010 Toronto International Film Festival, garnered a Women In Film and Television Artistic Achievement Award, a VIFF Artistic Merit Award and Leo Award for Best Performance by Female Lead. “Amazon Falls” is currently being broadcast on The Movie Network and is distributed worldwide by Celebrity Home Entertainment and distributed in Canada by Indiecan. “Grave Encounters 2” is a found footage horror sequel written by The Vicious Brothers distributed through Tribeca Films. Work in progress and development includes “Heart of Dance,” a dramatic feature written by Scarlett Bruns to be directed by Terence H. Winkless. “Coincidence by Design,” a thriller in development with writer Jefferson Lewis attached.
